Last night Pretty Little Liars fans got the first episode of Season Four and a whole lot of questions answered (mainly from Mona).  The biggest question we were left with was "What is in the trunk?"  We got a disappointing pig corpse.  I get the symbolism of a dead pig in the trunk of the cop car but it seems they could have given us something more prevalent to the storyline.  Mona saved the day ripping the hard drive out of the cop car that had video evidence of Ashley running officer Wilden over.  This may have been even more crucial to the story than once thought when Wilden's body ends up dumped near the squad car in the morning.  We did hear that Garrett told Jenna that Wilden had seen Ali the night she died.  Another person on the long list of people who may or may not have killed Ali (or who may or may not have seen who killed her).  Doesn't matter now that he is dead...or does it?

Mona continued to surprise us by sitting down and divulging all of her involvement with A and revealing a few of her helpers along the way like Lucas (who currently is MIA) and Toby.  Mona tells that Lucas gave Emily the massage but she doesn't know who pushed Ian off the bell tower.  I am willing to bet it was Toby.  We are to believe that Toby was only working for A in last season to save Spencer but I don't buy it.  I think Toby has been involved with A from the get go but he did genuinely develop feelings for Spencer which has affected his choices from time to time.  Mona tells the Liars about Jenna and Shauna's relationship and says that Shauna is in love with Jenna.  My guess is Jenna is using Shauna's affection for her to manipulate her into doing what she wants.  Jenna is like Toby for me, I never have trusted her and probably never will.  Jenna's vision is blurring again and she stated to Shauna that her vision will eventually return to darkness.  I'd say I feel bad but I don't.    Mona takes them to her lair and she tells them that Wilden was the Queen of Hearts and his helper, none other than Melissa Hastings.  Melissa and Wilden put Aria in the box that contained Garrett's body.  Leaving me to believe that Widen and Melissa also were involved in Garrett's death.  Mona claims to have put the cop car in Hanna's garage but she doesn't know who got the car out of the lake; thus leading us to believe that A clearly has a new A Team in place to replace Mona, Toby and Spencer.  A seemingly has everyone helping her out from time to time and clearly Melissa Hastings has been aiding A for a while.  I'm sure it is because of her involvement in Ali's murder.  I am really interested in seeing Mona integrate into being one of the Liars.  She's smart and knows how A works better than anyone.  I think Mona truly just wanted to be one of their friends and after years of rejection she became A (along with Lucas).  But when Mona was in Radley Ali took over as A and took the Liars from her once again.  Mona has nothing left to loose, it's Liars unite and this is a great twist on the already twisted storyline!

Another twist in the storyline this season is Mrs. Dilaurentis moving back to Rosewood.  One of the best moments of the episode was Spencer discovering Mrs. Dilaurentis eerily staring at her from Ali's bedroom window across the way.  Mrs. D tells Emily that Jason is at Grandma's house doing renovations and I expect to see Jason return later in the season.  So what is Mrs. Dilaurentis doing back in town? Emily said she was creating a shrine to Ali by putting her bedroom back like it was before she died but I am sure it's more than that.  She is preparing Ali's room for Ali's return to Rosewood.  This season we are finally going to discover the twin storyline, yes for those of you who do not know about the books, Ali has a twin named Courtney and when the "twin" returns a lot of this story is going to make sense (and I'm sure a lot will still be in question).  The twin explains why the Liars have seen Ali infrequently throughout the entire series.  It will explain why Red Coat seems to be Ali and nearly everyone saw her on the last episode of last season.  Yes, Ali is Red Coat.  So who died if Ali is alive?  My conclusion, Courtney, the twin.

At Wilden's funeral we see a mysterious person in a Black Veil and at the end of the episode we see her wearing the creepy porcelain mask beneath he veil.  Could be Ali, could be Melissa.  I didn't notice the long blond locks so I am thinking Melissa.  A sent Spencer into Wildens coffin to retrieve something which turned out to be Ashley's cell phone.  Ashley is out of town right now which makes me wonder whether Ashley is in danger.  We have new cops in town who are currently playing nice but the jury is out on those two.  They are Pennsylvania State Police meaning the state is well aware of Rosewoods record of dirty police and have chosen to intervene.

Aria/Ezra: Everyone was shocked and saddened by the vision Aria had of Ezra being arrested for their relationship.  Fortunately for Ezra this was all a daydream and not reality, but I do think this is the end for the Aria/Ezra relationship.  Could they possibly reunite once Aria graduates? Possibly.  If enough of the viewers hate the two apart.  In the books Aria and Ezra only date for a short time and he is arrested for it.  He isn't a main character in the series so I wouldn't be surprised if that storyline is about over.  Expect to see Aria with a new love interest before the season ends.

Emily/Paige: Paige has gotten into Standford's swim program and wants Emily to follow.  Emily reluctantly agrees but I guarantee unforeseen circumstances (probably involving A) will prevent this from ever happening.  This probably foreshadows Paige's exit from the show.

Spencer/Toby: I know a lot of you out there like Spencer and Toby but I completely hate it.  I do not trust Toby and I do not sympathize with him.  A seems to have something over him regarding his mothers death as we see him receiving texts like I BET YOU MISS HER EVERYDAY- A and I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR MOM. BRING THE LAIR - A.  If there is one thing we know it is that when A has something on you, A usually wins.  I think we are suppose to keep trying to trust Toby but in the end I guarantee, he's not innocent and he has been a main part of A from the beginning.  But at this point Spencer and Toby seem to be going strong.  Let's just sit back and see how long that lasts.

Hanna/Caleb: Why do we have a season premiere without seeing Caleb?  He's off looking for his Dad, that's the story.  We know that Caleb's character is slated to join the cast of the Pretty Little Liars spin off Ravenswood in the fall so things are not looking good for this dynamic duo.

Final text from A stated, THE TRUTH WON'T SET YOU FREE.  I'M GOING TO BURY YO WITH IT - A.  Attached a video of them tampering with the police car before Wilden's body was found.  Clearly the Liars will be implicated for the death of Wilden.

I am so excited about ABC Family's new series Twisted!  If it lives up to Pretty Little Liars we can expect twists and turns around every corner.  Twisted features Danny Desai a sixteen year old who has just returned to his hometown after spending five years in juvenile detention for the murder of his Aunt Tara when he was eleven.  Danny refuses to give the reason for the murder of his Aunt and insists he can never tell why he did it.  He even tells his friend Jo that he is "protecting her" by not telling her his reasons.  He insists that he may have killed someone but he has never lied to her.  Danny faces many hardships returning to his hometown, he is rejected by his two former best friends and has been nic-named Socio by everyone in the school.  Socio was actually the slated name for the show but it was changed to Twisted before the premiere aired.  During a psychology class it is pointed out that Danny is nic-named Socio and they discuss the psychological traits of a sociopath.  I think this is an important part of the show.  This teachers guidance will give us more understanding into the mind of a true sociopath.  The teacher points out that most sociopaths don't kill, they have no conscience, and they have no ability to feel for others.  So how can you tell if someone is a true sociopath?  It's not as easy as it sounds because sociopaths also have an uncanny ability to mimic human emotion.  Danny seems protective of his friends Jo and Lacey, he seems like he had reasons (undisclosed) for killing his Aunt, but are those protective, caring feelings he displays just mimicry or genuine.  That will be the point of the show.

Danny's former friends have grown apart and now reside in completely different social groups.  Jo is an awkward, nerdy girl who's only friend seems to be Rico an equally awkward teenage boy.  Jo blames Danny for her loss of a childhood and PTSD.  Lacey on the other hand took her trauma and turned it into social triumph; she rejected Jo and any connection to Danny Desai eventually working her way up to the top of the social ladder.  She runs with the Queen Bees of the school, her best friend being Regina.  When Danny returns to campus Regina doesn't seem to mind his Twisted past and is set on sleeping with him.  (And who could blame her because Danny is hot!!)  Regina invites Danny to a party at her house that evening which he chooses to attend with Jo.  When Jo ends up very intoxicated at the party Danny saves the day by intervening when a guy is trying to get her shirt off.  The guy calls Danny "Rope Boy" which seems to incite some rage in Danny's eyes.  There is a chilling moment when Danny whispers something into the guys ear and the big jock backs down and walks away.  It is later revealed that Danny said "If you don't back off I will kill you and I will enjoy it like I did last time."  This could be inaccurate or fabricated gossip, it could be what he said to diffuse the situation, or it could be that Danny is truly a sociopath.  But remember sociopaths don't usually kill people.  Danny leaves with Jo and the two are picked up by Lacey who after dropping Jo off ends up staying the night at Danny's house.  This she will keep to herself even when it could offer and alibi for Danny who finds himself under accusation of another murder.  My guess is within the next few episodes she will have to admit she was with him and this will be a crushing blow to her social status.

Danny receives a text from Regina after Lacey has fallen asleep asking him to come back and have sex with her.  He declines more than once and asks her how she got his number.  Then he receives a text that says "I KNOW WHY YOU KILLED YOUR AUNT."  We don't know if Danny left to see Regina about the message and he claims he shut off his phone after that last text and went to bed.
Danny was very interested in Regina's necklace which turns out to be the same necklace his aunt wore.  When Regina turns up dead at the end of the episode the necklace is missing and Danny is questioned about it by the police chief (who happens to be Jo's father).  He claims to know nothing of the necklace but we are left with Danny in his room alone going though pictures; one of his aunt with the necklace on and then Danny pulls out the necklace from the box.  We could believe that Danny did kill Regina, that he went over to confront her about the text, killed her and took the necklace but that would be too simple wouldn't it.  We can't build a new series off of the obvious.  Clearly Danny did not kill Regina but he will be the one in town everyone will target and blame.  To have the necklace in his possession is only going to increase suspicion.  If this guy isn't a sociopath now, he might be before this town is through with him.

This is the start of a truly great story with all of the mystery and twists of Pretty Little Liars and all of the hottness of Avan Jogia.  One thing I would watch for in this story is Danny's Mom who is played by Denise Richards.  The story tells us his father (who was wealthy) died a year before by drowning by falling off his yacht.  She tells Danny that the Dad had lost all of their fortune before he died in risky business ventures; claiming that is why they returned to the home town as no one will buy the house and they are broke.  A likely story, I am betting the Mama killed him.   I would even venture to say that the Mother had something to do with the Aunts death as well and Danny took the fall.  Can't wait to see how this plays out.  I will continue my Twisted and Pretty Little Liars blog through our the season.
